ZOO WEEKEND

We have just had the best weekend. Ali, Jacob and her cousin Karyn came to stay at home on the weekend. They arrived Friday night and we sat up talking until way past midnight (I fell asleep in the chair). My hubbie went to bed early as he had to get up early as he had a boys weekend away and was leaving at 4:30am. Margie, Robyn and myself and my beautiful granddaughter decided to go to the zoo as well. We had a lovely lunch at the cafe/restaurant (well except for the flys), chicken/prawn salad, mineral water and herb tea for me. Robyn went home and the rest of us drove around and viewed all the magnificient animals. The kids and Ali got to feed the giraffes - so that was a lot of fun. Of course the kids also purchased a couple of souveniers so they (and the adults) had a bit of fun in the shop. I had to go to a function Saturday night for a business college who was retiring - it was coctail so I go dressed up and headed out to that at 6:30pm. It was a great success - we all had a wonderful night with out 90 people attending. When I got home in the late hours of the night Ali had fallen asleep putting Jacob to bed and Karyn was still up watching a video. Karyn is such a lovely person, we meet her in Wagga and she is just one of those people you click with really easily and is just fun to be around. Anyway we decided to have a bit of a party - so I had some leftover cause I was starving and then we had a cuppa and attacked the chocolates. :) The next morning we all got up and met Margie and Robyn again and had brunch at Village Hot Bake - it is the first time I have ever had a large salad sandwich for breakfast :) The girls then headed back home to Canberra. I was heading to work but by the time I dropped off Robyn and we had a long talk, and then I went to visit my mother-in-law and we had a long talk and then I went to visit my Mother and we had a long talk and then I got the groceries and well you always run into someone to talk to :), I walked back into the house at 5:30 that afternoon. I tried to catch up on all my jobs and fell into bed at 1:00am this morning. I had my alarm set to get up at 5:00am but I turned it off and woke up at 7:00am today :) Fantastic weekend was had by all. Oh I nearly forgot - Jacob wanted to stay and live with me but I have a feeling it was not because of me - I think it had something to do with the pool and all the lollies that I have in my house :) It was a fun weekend.
